Privacy.
In plain English: what we collect, what we don't, and how we make money. No accounts, no tracking pixels, no resale of your data.
What we collect
- Search inputs — origin airport, dates, family size, and filters you set. We use these to run the search and to improve the product.
- Outbound clicks — when you click "See hotel rates," we log which trip you clicked and the price displayed at the time. Booking partners use this to attribute commission to us.
- A session ID — a random identifier in your browser's local storage that links your clicks to your search. Not tied to your name or email.
What we don't collect
- We don't ask for your name, email, or address. There are no accounts.
- We don't sell your search data to third parties.
- We don't run advertising trackers (no Google Ads, Facebook Pixel, etc.).
Cookies
We use one piece of local storage (the session ID above) to associate your search with your booking clicks. We don't use third-party cookies. The booking partners we redirect you to (Booking.com, Expedia, Priceline) have their own privacy policies and cookies — you'll be subject to those once you click through.
How affiliate partnerships work
When you click through to a booking partner, we pass an affiliate identifier so the partner can credit any resulting booking to KindredTrips. This is how we make money. The price you pay is identical — we don't add fees. The partner pays us a small percentage of their booking fee.
We sort search results by what fits your family — a mix of total trip cost, family-fit factors, and resort quality. We do not sort by which partner pays us the most.
Data we share with partners
The booking partner receives the destination, dates, and party size you searched for as part of the redirect URL. They do not receive any other personal information from us.
How long we keep data
Search inputs and click logs are kept indefinitely so we can improve the product and analyze trends. They live on Supabase (US-East). They are not exported or shared.
Your rights
If you'd like us to delete your search history, email us with your session ID (visible in your browser's local storage under kt_session_id) and we'll remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. The "last updated" date below will reflect any changes.
